1401 Sequoia Grove Cab Sauv 2003

Deep garnet in color with aromas of ripe cherry and blackberry with a little bit of cranberry. The fruit intertwines lovingly with the oak, hints of which can be found in aromas of clove, black pepper and a touch of cigar box. Round in the mouth with soft, supple tannins and well-integrated acid, the weight of the wine is delicate and full of finesse but with a silky, long finish. This wine pairs well with many food dishes on your everyday menu. Some of our favorites are Roasted Chicken with Balsamic Vinaigrette or Mushroom Burgers with Garlic Aioli.
Price: $62.99

1378
Valdivieso Cabernet Franc
Valdivieso Cabernet Franc

This is a seductive little Latin beauty. It’s dark and complex - minty espresso mixed with ripe dark cherry juice & bitter chocolate - and well structured. Whatever they’re doing down there in Chile (the Rapel Valley) is working for me. Tasty, tasty stuff.
Price: $21.99

1398 Dry Creek Mariner Meritage 04
Dry Creek Mariner Meritage 04

The Mariner exudes exotic aromas of wild cherry, blackberry, and dried roses. After several more minutes in the glass, additional dark fruit characters are revealed. This is a multidimensional wine that is both compelling and provocative. On the palate, the fruit is rich and succulent with bright cherry, dark chocolate, and cassis flavors that intermingle with seamless, well integrated tannins. The finish displays flavors that are harmonious and repeat the theme of balance and finesse–a wine that truly begs for another sip.

Price: $41.91

#1309 Oyster Bay Pinot Noir 2006
Oyster Bay Pinot Noir 2006

Vintage: 2006
Rating: 90 Pts Valley Wine & Spirits
Review: Elegant cool climate pinot noir at its best. Fragrant, soft and flavourful with aromas of ripe cherries, plums and gentle sweet fruit tannins to provide serious structure and length.

#1333 Frank Family Chardonnay 2005
Frank Family Chardonnay 2005

Why? Very rare because last vintage received 92 points in Wine Spectator (new vintage not rated yet but even tastier so please hurry!)

PORTHOS INSIDER SCOOP: This is the private “boutique” production of partner Kerner Rombauer, of Rombauer Chardonnay fame. Production less than 10% of Rombauer.

Tastes? Big and luscious tropical fruits with perfectly rounded oak notes! A truly voluptuous experience that reminds us of baked apple pie a la mode with sweet cinnamon spices on the finish. This wine is such a new release that it still has green apple notes and vibrant acidity that will mellow into a gorgeous wine over the next 6 months. However, we’ll be sold out in the next few weeks so don’t delay and order now.
Price $32.99
1348 Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay
Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay

Rating: 93 Pts. Wine Spectator
Review: Fans of rich, unctuous Chardonnay should love this. Bold and concentrated, with layers of ripe fig, pear and melon that unfold on the palate. Holds onto the opulent flavors and finishes with a long, persistent aftertaste.

Match: Pheasant, Salmon, Pork

2005 Newton Unfiltered Chardonnay "Consistently one of California’s finest, longest-lived Chardonnays is Newton’s Unfiltered Chardonnay A classic expression of unfiltered Chardonnay; this rich and powerful wine opens with aromas of citrus flowers, coconut, butterscotch and roasted almonds. On the palate the wine combines butter and oak with layers of peach, mango and honey and a touch of mineral on the finish.
