Grandi & Gabana Pucinvm IGT 2004

Venezia Giulia, Italy

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc

This high quality red wine has an intense ruby red color with distinct violet hues. The wine has a typical spicy finish that goes from liquorices to coffee. Full bodied with soft tannins, round and elegant.  The Grandi & Gabana cellars are positioned in a magnificent natural environment in the southwest of Udine, between Friuli's capital and the village of Latisana, where the DOC district Friuli-Latisana borders the DOC districts Friuli-Grave and Friuli-Annia

Food Match:  Excellent with game, red meat and cheese. Allow the wine to breathe at least a couple of hours before serving.

TORBRECK Woodcutter’s Shiraz 2006

Barossa Valley, Australia

Purple-colored, it has an attractive array of pepper, spicy blackberry, black cherry, and blueberry muffin aromas. Full-bodied and opulent on the palate, the wine delivers gobs of meaty, full-flavored blue and black fruits to accompany its forward, easy-going personality. Drink this over the next 4-6 years.  Although this wine is constantly praised for being succulent and rich, perhaps the best features of Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz are its complexity and texture.

Low yielding, old and dry grown Barossa Valley vineyards are the cornerstone of Torbreck.  The name Woodcutters stems from when David Powell spent several years working in the Scottish Highlands as a lumberjack or woodcutter in the Torbreck forest.  The Woodcutters Red, like all Torbreck wines, sources fruit from hand harvested and hand tended, low yielding vines. It is fermented and gently pressed, then aged for 12 months in large format seasoned barrels.

Ratings: Wine Enthusiast 91 points & Robert Parker 92 points

Food Match:  Beef roast, steak, hamburgers, rack of lamb, lamb chops, pork spare ribs.   Also, wild game meats like; dove, pheasant, venison (deer) and buffalo.  Additionally hard, savory cheeses like Parmigiano, Romano and Cheddar.

Selling $22.99 plus tax REORDER PRICE (15% DISCOUNT) $19.54
